two days worth of outfits

photos 1-3: button up shirt, vintage. cutoffs, gap. bag, ninewest. boots, rubi by cotton on via zalora ph. photos 4-5: tank, bench ph. shorts, mags. wedges, CLN. clutch bag, gift from aunt. blazer, vintage.

Yesterday and today's outfits. 2 days worth of outfits for several days' worth of going missing from the blogosphere from some time last week. There's really not much to share about this week and last week either. At least not a lot of good news to share. A lot of things going on this side of the world is bad news, instead. Let's not dwell on that however. It's just...all bad and depressing. National and inside the island issues, yes. You'd think Mindanao Island in the Philippines is sunny and warm and paradise-like but at this time, it's really not...that...much a paradise.

It's around 30 degrees and up, 33-36 to be more specific, Celsius here so it's definitely hot. Very hot. It's close to the regular body temperature, even. Yet, the weathermen on the news say the rainy season is upon us. I definitely hope it cools down a little more. Otherwise, I'm happy being mostly in shorts and mini skirts until then.

dinner date get-ups and a little catch-up on some things figure skating

 1. secondhand Nike jacket, kohl's (? I don't remember anymore though...) t-dress, CLN wedges, gifted (by aunt) bag; 2. vintage dress; 3. vintage suede jacket, tally weijl dress.

The bag and wedges were on repeat the whole of last week...well...for a total of 3 times at least, all with different dresses to go with because I couldn't bring myself to wear anything that wasn't a skirt or a pair of shorts thanks to the recently acquired knee injury while tromping around the city center with the aunt one day the week before. In flats, as I wore flats that fated day, I seem to be accident prone...not so much on the heels so I might as well start reacquainting myself with everything heels. It might help me minimize the pavement accidents I'm so prone to.

This week, thanks to the figure skating post on ohnotheydidnt, I went on a youtube-watching spree on everything male figure skating from the recently concluded World Championships (held in Helsinki) to others I've missed years and years ago. Well, not five to then years ago at least. The last time I was into figure skating, it was thanks to the ladies: Tara Lapinski and Michelle Kwan were my favorites. Now, I'm into male figure skating events/competitions thanks to Uno Shoma and sometimes, Hanyu Yuzuru. I'm not much of a Yuzu-fan---his fandom turns me off mostly---but I like Shoma...a lot. There's just something about him that is different from the other skaters...ah...I'm not sure either. I'm not even very good at figure skating specs/technicalities. Well...yeah.

two

dress, bettina. jacket, secondhand Cali Girl. boots, zalora. sunglasses, dad's.

t & leggings, random. bag, ninewest. wedges, CLN.

A couple of outfits today though, ultimately, I went out with the second one on. And yes, the t there is the one I cut its sleeves off. White, cream, gray, brown, navy and black seems to be my color palette wardrobe-wise, as of the moment. There's a hint of blue somewhere like the corduroy jacket on the first, however, it's still not too obvious there in that photo. More than my mood in picking out whatever to wear on a daily basis, I feel this is due to the fluctuating moods of the days---it goes from hot and sunny to overcast or cloudy from morning to afternoon and vice versa.

Currently obsessing about this music video. This got me wanting to have lacy bodysuits I severely lack. But on the music side of it, I'm a huge fan of the song to the point I put the mv on repeat this morning.

dressing down a romper

romper, zalora. hoodie, secondhand anne klein. boots, zalora (rubi - cotton on). bag, sr squared by sonda roberts

The romper...I wore around all day due to the humid but a tad bit cold and cloudy day. The hoodie...I accidentally smeared some Human Heart Nature cream lipstick in Coral Charm (their version of nude) on one of its sleeves while trying to apply the thing with my using the lipstick brush I got from Watsons eons ago. I can be quite clumsy. It's an acquired habit since young, unfortunately. But the smear on the sleeve of the hoodie probably can be taken off by washing it, I suppose.

One thing I love about this romper is it's pretty easy to dress up and down. Hoodie and ankle boots? Dressing down. Hoodie and wedges? A bit dressed up but still not quite as in exhibit B here below with CLN wedges:

Anyway, a little something to remember 7-member AAA by since Ito Chiaki has left it as of the start of this year due to pregnancy:
This song is just so much love and the album of the same title as well. 'nuff said.

I've seen 6-member AAA and it works too but I think I'll keep missing seeing the group having two girls. Plus the saddest thing about Chiaki leaving this year is that there was a planned MisaChia (Uno Misako, Ito Chiaki)tour that ended up being scrapped. The album does have two tracks I love that were sung by both of them. I suppose, on AAA's tour this year, it'll only be Misako singing both songs. Yep, sad indeed.

another sailor-like piece

t, h&m. skirt, secondhand zara. wedges, CLN, sunglasses, dad's.

with BDG flats

Focal point of this post is the skirt. The skirt actually has a couple of pockets at the back like those of jeans and faux pockets in front with button flaps. In pretty navy that makes it easy to be integrated with any plain navy, black or even olive or army-ish green tops, it reminds me of a rather sailor-themed piece. The skirt works best high-waisted but rather than have the top/s tucked in to emphasize the whole skirt, I like the way it looks with the shirt un-tucked.

The BDG flats are a blessing should I need to go out quickly and still remain sartorially put together with easy basics like this top and skirt. They're also practical to use when doing long walks and a lot of standing but with me being me, it's one of the least used stuff among my footwear. I still like using impractical high heeled like sky-high heeled shoes more than the flats on most days. I'm...weird like that...I think.

This is how the skirt looks like with the top tucked in. Umn...I'd avoid this way of wearing the skirt on most days for some reason as it's not so me? Plus, I don't seem to like the way it looks this way.

randomly untitled because i couldn't think of anything haha

cardigan and bag, vintage; racerback tank, bench; shorts, tally weijl; wedges, CLN; leaf necklace, forever21; necklaces and rings, aizilim; tights, robinson's department store

Tuesday: completely air dried hair and a mix of...well...stuff.

makeshift silky wrap

vintage maje dress, jessica simpson straw fedora, burlington (via robinson's department store) socks, CLN wedges, forever21 filigree cuff/bracelet, aizilim necklaces, smashbox netted choker

The dress is originally knee-length. After knotting together a large portion of the satiny fabric up front and now it looks like a fairly-like wrap dress. The dress, due to the silkiness, has a luxurious feel to it when worn that it can be a piece to go on a night out in or even stay in on some weekends if one likes to. ...and I figured brown and navy blue would look pretty good together.

saturday nights are for chilling and getting down to deep house/tropical house music

secondhand hot topic t, zalora sporty skirt (phs 1, 2), zara super skinny jeans, vintage belt (not pictured but used in ph 3), forever21 ankle boots (phs 1, 2), CLN wedges (ph3), bag is a gift from an aunt (random, unknown brand), mix of forever21 vintage and souvenir shop shell (from Dumaguete City) bangles/bracelets, aizilim rings

Chilling to and getting down to deep house/tropical house tonight. It's Saturday here, so... Back on topic: CREAM's Summer Mix 2014 is the record to put on loop with a ton of gems from STAY to Wonderland to Whatever feat. WISE & Tarantula (Spontania) [Unedited Version] to Forever Young to #nofilter. There are a few other tracks I deliberately avoided mentioning back there but these are what make this record for me. I love a sampler or especially full record that you can actually dance the night away in, in your room or in a deserted beach strip. This is something difficult to find along with records that makes the listener (me) feel. Ah yes, more chill dance music to make me miss the summer even more and wish it to come on here and hurry up quick.

....and something totally random: to give you an idea of what a playlist for most nights and some days to me looks like, I was looking around youtube earlier tonight to new music from the Chainsmokers (is it just me or are they seriously transitioning to a more Filous-y, Kygo-y style of music with Paris from the edgy, dark-ish drops-heavy debut track, Roses? I'd like it if they stayed experimental house/edm, though. The Chainsmokers are pretty good at experimenting with everything edm. If you can't follow my train of thought here, try their older EP, Bouquet and then get back at me to convince me otherwise...), old stuff from Shura, Tove Lo, Da-iCE, FEMM, FAMM'IN and a few others more. And now I'm listening to the 'deep, tropical house' playlist---comprising of about 30 to 40 highly varied house tracks (stuff from Filous, Alex Schulz, Ben Phipps, Instant Karma, Lost Frequencies and more) found from all over youtube---I have on windows media player. This playlist grows by the by as I go to my favorite youtube channel source for feel good music like the playlist's contents at least once every 2 weeks or so. I listen to a healthy mix of indie and mainstream pop stuff, actually. I like variety in the different kinds of music I listen to since mood dictates what music I listen to as much as it does how I dress/clothe myself. But, as of late, I've been more on deep house/tropical house than regular pop and my usual dose of alternative (pop-)rock (usually the euro/brit kind). This is the kind of music I can even sleep to...who says EDM has to be all techno, heavy, loud music that's highly distracting? Chill ambient deep house and/or tropical house is where it's at, yo. It's so mind-numbingly good it's great for trying to shake away the stresses and strains that life brings on a daily basis. It's highly effective in blanking my mind to the state of near-meditation. If you get what I mean as I am rambling more here now... Anyway, since I went this way middle of last year in music preference direction...I haven't the heart to come back to real world pop music except maybe to check if my other favorite pop and pop-rock musicians have released new stuff from time to time. And to conclude this pretty long, somewhat incoherent? rambling, let me just reveal that: to this day, I'm still dreaming of owning a CD/record collection so varied but mostly pop, mainstream and indie that transcends language barriers, culture divides and more...that and possibly dj-ing (and possibly music producing) since I'm so into house music nowadays. I'm currently trying to scheme ways to actually learn how to dj, remix tracks (edm/house remixing/mixing is becoming an obsession for me somehow) and fix a good, pretty original pop tune...and practice it. That's the dream anyway.

At some point in their lives, I think that people who have been classically trained (from late grade school to college, I've been dabbling in guitar - self-taught and classical singing and piano [via known, local reputable music school with an amazing teacher to boot...RIP since she's passed away eons ago, I miss her /sad]) in music who also dabble a bit on pop music would end up getting drawn hopelessly to the magic that is house music or edm (techno-altered music). I went there and am here, a house music obsessed someone... I mean, we do have people like Zedd and Kygo among a few others and to my knowledge, Zedd did classical piano before moving to and staying put indefinitely with techno edm/house stuff...so...yeah. Well...I could go on and on discussing house music/edm and pop music and then bore y'readers...if you find pop and house music/edm talk boring (as I don't...really...so...it's pretty interesting a subject to let go of...sort of---confusing, I know, I usually am a bumbling overthinking mess...usually...) so I'll end this one here and save the rest for later. Much, much later. I just felt like laying a lot of this on here so much tonight somehow...and yeah...I don't really know much why I'm like this tonight either...

***
Music talk came first before outfit talk...hmn... This is a first. Life came down to photos 1-2 today on my way to the local Humanheartnature branch only to find that they've postponed the magalogue turnover and moved it to the 28th. Swapped the skirt for these zara jeans I'd bought two seasons or so ago with a few others still tagged, for a quick trip out later in the early evening. I think I mentioned this eons ago before but I have the habit of waiting for the right occasion to wear things from certain purchases. Well, it's pretty old news from my end.

Life is coming down to sleeping to the deep house, tropical house wmp playlist in 3...2...

button front skirt

forever21 shirt and silver chain necklace, secondhand buttoned skirt, CLN wedges, apt 9 (via kohl's) bag, souvenir shop black shell bangles, from aunt yellow beaded necklace as bracelet, aizilim necklace and rings, smashbox (at Ayala Centrio) netted choker, random socks, vintage hammered bangle

The skirt is one of my most-prized secondhand/thrift finds because of the make of it. I wanted to sell it on ebay or include it to the items I am putting up there but after this, I'm on the verge of rethinking doing so though I hardly really wear it much compared to others I have. This thing is just teeming with so much potential after this experimentation for me right now. It works best with a boyshort but I suppose patterned tights will work well with it too. It is sort of high-waist so when shirts are tucked into it, it looks like it's banded around the waist. It's also the least basic with the buttons in front black skirt I own at this time. On the other hand, after so many isolated wears and washes, it seems this f21 shirt is about to give up. Hmn...

Well, Christmas parties are being thrown here and there now and it's still a week or so more before that fated day. Yep, it's becoming more and more festive now. I haven't yet decided what to wear to one this coming Friday at an aunt's place. The again, I normally dress according to mood so we'll see how that goes later...

saturday and sunday

vintage E.D. Michaels dress, Ninewest clutch, knee high socks from Marshalls, zalora heels, LC Lauren Conrad bracelet, aizilim rosegold bangle, necklaces and rings

An improved version of what was worn to dinner last night at a family friend's home. Crabs was had and some version of the Japanese sushi endemic in this region: kinilaw.

secondhand skirt and t, CLN wedges, LC Lauren Conrad bracelet, aizilim rosegold bangle, necklaces and rings, Hollister tote

....and what I went out with when running errands last Saturday. Partial gift shopping was done on the nearby Human Heart Nature store/boutique which is probably fast becoming one of my favorite places to go to around here as of late. I was in time there to catch the early morning magalogue turnover session and promptly was able to get my hands on the recent magalogue they were giving out.

white, dusty pink...and military green

mock neck top from bangkok (from mum), Mags shorts, CLN wedges, random socks and bag, aizilim necklaces, forever21 filigree cuff and cat ears ring (not too visible in the photo), aizilim gem ring (not too visible in the photo)

Sometimes I like to dress up really girly in white, off white or cream and dusty pink and pretend I'm just around Ginza, the posher, girlier part of really vast city, Tokyo. Was I able to get their style right? No? Yeah...I don't really know either.

with thrifted parka/hooded trench

And then there are times like this, when it was threatening to rain though still pretty hot and humid (typical oven-like temperatures in place like these that's only a few kilometers or so from the equator), I have to spring for the parka. It can be quite relieving to have this around when it's cold and raining. Especially when it's raining. It is raining hard tonight. I'm good at being redundant, yes.

This bag is becoming a favorite since getting it from my aunt last Christmas. It's just the right amount of cute---since I can only tolerate cute in the smallest doses---and edgy black to complement some girly stuff in the closet and even those that aren't really that girly which, coincidentally, I own in large quantities. I dress too much like a tomboy...on an island I sometimes think to myself I should've been born a boy. But...I'm happier being a girl and having too many options for dressing (and especially high heeled ankle boots I'm currently thinking of acquiring soon) so...yes...there.

Every female here must be a-buzz for H&M's opening tomorrow at Ayala Centrio. I'm going there with the bff and frequent hang out buddy and shopping buddy all-in-one to play, hence I'm sleeping early tonight.

It's my camera stand that's having problems hence the photos where the backdrop is askew. I probably need to get a new one or something...hmn...

back to the denim cut-offs uniform

thermal/long sleeved t & levis denim cut-offs, vintage; bag, Coach; wedges, CLN; necklaces, random boutique (via Limketkai/LKK mall) & aizilim; rings, aizilim & forever21; flower footless tights, daiso

2 things: one, H&M in Ayala Centrio is opening two days from now, the 27th...definitely going and playing there with a really close friend since high school on the said date (kind of excited for it, kind of not because there's bound to be a ton of people going there by then) and two, I'm really, really enjoying Kamen Rider Ex-Aid (more than Kamen Rider Ghost) the past 3 or so episodes I've seen of it so far. It's been awhile (since Kamen Rider Drive) that I'm watching something that's fun~ It's only a plus that one of my favorite Jpop artists, Miura Daichi, is singing the opening theme for this. So darn cool~

oddly comfortable secondhand gap tissue t

(my photos)

secondhand gap tissue t and denim cutoffs; vintage light blue-gemmed ring; old watch ring; aizilim ring, necklaces; forever21 long leaf necklace; (above) vintage laced-up ankle boots; (below) CLN wedges; ninewest clutch.

The CLN wedges chosen by the uncle (one of my favorites among my mum's about 7 siblings---they're eight in the family) finally put to good use, spicing up an otherwise dull outfit of the day...thing with other pops of color items. One can never have one too much accessories to liven up a dull black and dark denim blue palette.

Gap t is very, very comfortable (secondhand gap stuff are really good aren't they?) and this is in medium so I had to cut the lower part of it a few inches down so it'd fit well and not really go past the cutoffs at all---making it alright to look at un-tucked.

There seems to be more denim cutoffs in the wardrobe more than the regular denim shorts for some reason. Hmn...

This is pretty useful on a daily basis by the way. Just kind of sad this isn't available in the department stores here. /cries. It's a pretty fine find at Marshalls or maybe it was some other store in the US sometime last December 2015. Definitely beats the yellow one I often use.

chambray romper

(my photos)

I change clothes a lot from arriving from somewhere to home or sometimes, even when I'm out elsewhere. This was after a quick trip to play with cats at a newly opened cat cafe across FICCCO's building a few minutes ride from here with the really close (read, since the last year of high school) girl friend. So much fun was had of the 20 minutes each we secured to play with the cats there. We were able to pet and carry some around as well. We took photos of the cats as well although there's not much I took with them.

All-in-all, a productively cute day outside to play with cats? I ended up wanting a persian one so bad. Or something else entirely would be fun. I always did love cats more than I do dogs somehow.

hollister chambray romper; CLN wedges; gifted beaded necklace as bracelet; verano pink tri-strand ribbon choker; vivi magazine; dad's sunglasses
