blood red, cherry red

slipdress and blazer, vintage. clutch, ninewest. boots, rubi by cotton on via zalora (similar). ribbon tri-strand choker, verano ph via zalora (similar).

Happy hearts day, y'all!

I'm settling down to music videos and stage performances by my favorite men/boys tonight. It's uhmn...well, more than my traditional Valentines' day tradition along with watching Da-iCE concert/s here and there to name one (or catching up to Kamen Rider Build as I left it off at episode 13 or so a couple nights ago...), it's an every night sort of thing since the MVs and stage performances are in a playlist on my windows media player. LOL. Anyway, I think this is the best way to cap the Hearts' day celebration with. I'm just missing organic/healthy dark chocolate eating somehow. The sad thing is that I don't have any of these at hand. Hmn...a strawberry zinfandel would be nice to have tonight, though, while on this MVs and stage performances marathon watching. I'm pretty sure I'll move on in a bit and play catch up with Kamen Rider Build and the kdrama, Radio Romance anyway. I've only finished 2 episodes of the latter. The reason I picked up said kdrama is thanks to Yoon Doo Joon from Highlight but that could have easily been very predictable as Highlight is my favorite kpop boygroup after Da-iCE from Japan.

For tonight, I have two tracks I love that are more about self-love and freedom than they are about dreamy romantic love:
I think these are perfect for winding down, chilling to tonight, especially when one has been out say, working or attending classes. AAA's MisaChia's MV for Jewel is cut short at 4 minutes or so but the whole track is beautiful on the Way of Glory album. It is, no doubt, my favorite so far from AAA after years of them volleying from multi-genre-d AAA to purely EDM AAA and back to being multi-genre.

I love, love, loooovee really positive, cheerful songs (Jpop has a lot of these but Kpop is catching up as well) and those especially about self-love. Really freeing bops are also my thing so Faky's Somewhere We'll Know is an eternal favorite where that goes. I'd also add E-girls' Kitakaze to Taiyou (The North Wind and the Sun) here but I sort of remember posting that one just a few days or a week ago or so, so I'm going to leave that out in this one this time. Such songs help keep my head above the water, cheer me up some and help me fake it when I feel like needing to fake it. I guess there's nothing like girl power where pop music goes. I'm usually more into the male idol group side of things: Da-iCE, Magic Prince, PrizmaX, Choutokkyuu/Bullettrain, Flowback, Infinite, Highlight and Golden Child but tonight I will let those men/boys rest and go with the girls since it's hearts' night anyway and I need a friendly reminder that I love myself more than I love those males in the idol groups I mentioned. Haha. Oh, and even music. Though usually it's music first for me over self. They can co-exist well together in my book though,if you catch my drift here. That's the beauty of the self and music.

a couple of white dresses

photos 1-2: dress, from multiply (old - some korean/chinese brand i forgot...hah). choker, verano ph via zalora ph (but from seasons ago...). tights, daiso (if memory serves me right...). heels, zalora ph. bangles, vintage and souvenir shop-dumaguete city. photo 3: denim jacket, vintage levis. dress, vintage. boots, rubi by cotton on via zalora ph. bag, clutch bag, gift from aunt.

And here we have another double outfit photo, photos 1 and 2 being from yesterday and photo 3 that's from today. What they have in common are the white dresses that I can't seem to live without. Another wardrobe staple (at least for me~) aside from the cream silk cami, yes. Here, today, we had some rains but they weren't too strong, just drizzles and they were on and off, too, in the morning. In the afternoon, it became the usual almost-extremely humid. As it was a little cooler especially in the morning and late in the afternoon, the denim shirt worn as a jacket on the third photo had to come out. It's soft denim and clearly a guy's shirt so it's oversized on me. It's the most useful as a jacket, to me. It's warm too but not too warm so I find that it suits mid-cool (not too cold, not too hot) daily temperatures that we usually don't have majority of the year here (only during the wet/rainy season, I guess). The boots and white dress is one combo I don't think I'll ever get tired of. As for photos 1 and 2, this might have been the first time I've gone all floaty and girly on here...err...no? This isn't really my typical style---I like to mix girly with edgy or masculine most of the time---but it works here, I guess. I was looking for something to wear with the tights other than the ankle boots so the pumps were the ones I sprung for thinking it would give a pop of color to an otherwise all black and white outfit. As for he white dresses, I really like that you can do anything in them, even dance to groovy jpop and tropical house music, jump on the trampoline, climb a tree also cook or make some salad because I just had to before lunch today... That's pretty much the charm of white dresses, the mini kind, for me.

Hmn...the staples post will have to come around Friday this week or next week...I'm not sure yet but this is definitely in the works at the moment.

simple-ish

dress/top, vintage. belt, vintage chanel. leggings, forever21. wedges, CLN. bag, apt 9 (via Kohls). bangles/bracelets, vintage and forever21. choker, verano ph (via zalora).

I'm weak to pieces that can be worn in multiple ways, and in the lightest colors. Most likely, one, it's because this island seems to be in the perpetual summer sunny day state 365 days a year and two, wearing dark colors just doesn't seem to fit such days around here...and in tropical places by default. And so, such is the case of this dress...top thing. It's such an easy thing to dress up and dress down---I've worn it with just shorts at some point too and as a dress although definitely a short one (I'm not a stripper so I wouldn't attempt this when going out and prefer to wear a pair of shorts with this thing when doing so...). And I guess, easy to wash or take care of as it seems to be made of silk or a mix of it and a few other kinds of fabric. Note that I tend to handwash these things delicate more than use the washing machine. At home, we actually don't own one---a washing machine. It's hardly really needed in this side of the world unless one has a load of laundry to do every week or so. I actually like to re-wear some pieces day in and day out until I think they should be thrown into the laundry---I see nothing wrong in doing so. This works two ways for me: one, it ensures the longevity of clothes I own (frequent washing is known to easily wear down clothing) and two, it keeps me from having a load of laundry to do on a weekly or once in two weeks basis.

Also, I have this fantasy of owning little else in due time, in the style I like the most, that I am also the most comfortable with, and doing all sorts of creative things with that number of clothing (in the wardrobe) for every purpose in life: travel and other just everyday things. I don't know...I'm an aspiring minimalist with a very summery wardrobe, I guess. ....and such is the theme of this blog as I actually meant it to be since starting it. I'm sort of obsessed with the less is more idea although it may seem I hardly live it or put it to practice.

mint green

slipdress, vintage. boots, rubi by cotton on via zalora. purse (mobile phone case), coach. choker, verano ph via zalora.

This is what's up on a sunny, humid, very very humid Thursday mid-afternoon. Body contorting and floor sitting are among my  many (?) talents, apparently. The slipdress is mint green which I feel, makes it appropriate for the humid summer days and it's thin enough one can sleep with or just, well, hang around at home in it. Finally, yay~ Some other color other than white, cream and navy, black.

....and I'll be catching up on episodes of the police procedural kdrama, Signal now. I missed a bunch of it due to life stuff but I might have reconciled with Kissasian english subs, which I wasn't so happy with on some kdrama of the same genre, so I figured I might as well go ahead with it this time, for Signal. I can't really follow the series on TVN week in and week out anyway for certain reasons.

ribbed coziness

top, forever21. cutoffs, secondhand rue21. boots, rubi by cotton on via zalora. belt, vintage. choker, verano ph via zalora.

This was meant to be yesterday, Saturday's post until I slept on posting it at all last night... Then it became a sunday really early morning post. Yesterday happened to be a bit of a busy blur for reasons so I wasn't able to make any post.

Really upped a notch on the personal, pretty innate weirdness last night...well, basically, I walked in these boots to the nearest 7-11. Catcallers need to die somehow then again, I don't really pay them any mind or something to that extent at all... Experiment done and done, apparently the boots are ok for walking fast and a tad bit long, or rather far. The morning before that...I answered the door to a second package from the grandmum in California in this. Ribbed stuff apparently are pretty cozy I'm beginning to get so used to them, I might end up too dependent on them considering the moment I spotted this in a rack in Fashion Island's Forever21 way, way back later of 2016 (two years ago, basically), I then and there decided to get this in its two colors: white (here) and black. Well, I can now say it was a good decision to. I suppose some things are just meant to be bought in multiples and in every color. This is one, the other is the Bench tank I have in both white and grey...

I'm thinking of getting into the fitted sometimes cropped bandwagon. Loose, slightly oversized and drapey is more my thing most days, however.

in before summer rain pours...

tank, secondhand. shorts, forever21. belt, vintage. heels, zalora. bag, giani bernini. choker, verano ph (via zalora).

I think white will be a constant in the daily wardrobe starting today. But I'll try to mix the color up with lighter earth colors and some select pastels. I don't really mind bright colors occasionally, however. I've been wanting some one-pieces (jp fashion terminology, otherwise known as mini-dresses) in bright orange and yellow or lime green lately after all.

There's another low pressure area hovering around us in this huge-ish island. Hmn...and I thought we were getting more sun and summertime humidity this late into March 2017...

Meanwhile the music/s I'm currently feeling at this time:
I just had to. The summer cheer was/is direly needed in the midst of summer rains thanks to this wretched low-pressure area. Anyway, earth hour is on saturday...definitely, well, participating.

Something random today: I went on a Da-iCE music and dance video marathon via youtube on the smart tv with the dad preparing to go out around the house, and then moved to a SOLIDEMO music video marathon. The latter part, I was squealing and raving about Nakayama Yuki being so cute. Then pretty much concluded...once a fangirl, always a fangirl. This is something Reply 1997, a kdrama,'s ending episode confirmed for me. Fortunately, I'm not as crazy a fangirl of my favorite Avex JP groups as the main girl in that drama. I definitely won't be caught going to the subject of my fangirling's mother's restaurant to wash the dishes and clean there... Low-key stalking, I'd do, though. Haha. I think casual/moderate fangirls would understand. Also, I'm not a consistent one anyway. I have a ton of biases and they change a lot...from time to time. Either way, this is harmless fangirling. My father dearest knows I love Japanese guys' looks and all...hmn...

And, now, I go back to lol (エルオーエル)  music porn. They're currently on the tour to promote the Boyfriend/Girlfriend single which I'm pretty excited for. Both a-sides sound good, so...well...them, lol (エルオーエル) .  Also, their debut single/song, Fire!! just doesn't age. As expected of releases from the faves...

P.S.
I'll try to post as much as possible this week and the next but family from the States (California) just arrived this week and my time is apparently being taken up by entertaining the teen cousin. Sort of...anyway.
