it says, 'sweet wild child'

tank dress, something borrowed via zalora. bangles/bracelets, from everywhere particularly Siquijor Island and Dumaguete City souvenir shops. ankle boots, primadonna via zalora (old, probably sold out already). rings, from everything particularly Bagel Girl in SM Downtown Premier. bag, from an aunt. beaded choker, aeropostale. long leaf necklace, f21. earrings, shesells.cdo on instagram

Me thinks you've seen this dress in a post before so yes, it's, well, quite old. Last year's acquisition. I just got to finally take a better picture of this thing and posted it here. One reason why I bought this one was the print: sweet wild child. Kind of like me? Kind of. I'm more boring than wild with sporadic trips to islands here and there. Cebu's Bantayan Island may have been bust last month but I only have it tabled. I definitely am going one day soon. Off tangent. Nothing new much with this one though, just a mix of everything old and kind of new as the Bagel Girl ring is a new-ish acquisition of last week's.

I think I've about given up with three layer necklaces. The built in kind. I actually got a couple. One of which came with this choker from Aeropostale, from an aunt in the US. The other was a Forever21 acquisition from here in SM Downtown Premier as well. Both are hopeless because they keep tangling up so I hardly use them now. Ugh. Don't you just HATE it when accessories end up tangled all over like that? I do. I'd rather just get separates now.

And then I messed this outfit up with the animal print vest I've had since forever...
vest, vintage/thrifted...i forgot where.

Lately, I've been obsessed with the show, The Great Escape. Hmn...I thoroughly enjoyed the Dr. Jo Mateo Psychiatric Hospital leg. Yes. It reminds me of The Genius season 1 and it's actually because they have the same producer/writer. Haha. Figures.

Back to clothes: I'm not entirely sure what's happening. I have been thinking the corona virus is messing with my packages. I am still expecting some items from Japan, fandom stuff and they haven't yet made it to me since last, last month. There are about two of these. And another is the zalora ones I ordered the other week. It's supposed to take less than a week but it's one week now? Huh? What's going on with the local post? I wonder. I REALLY hope it makes it here soon. The post men haven't sent me messages on these either. *Insert sad face here*.

Again, with the lip gloss. I'm of the opinion the lip gloss trend died when I left high school but I still use it when I can. All because I have a few tubes of it or so in my make-up bag. Otherwise, it's really just in the runways that it continues to live on...I think? I only ever wear it when I have it.

off duty is when all the hardware come out

bag, gifted by an aunt; top, something borrowed via zalora (old); bandage skirt, thrifted forever21; heels, zalora; bangles, a mix of random buys, etched forever21 and souvenir shop finds; socks, burlington; leaves necklace, forever21; multi-colored, beaded choker - aeropostale, gifted by aunt; earrings - random online buy from ig; vest - thrifted/vintage

You know you're slumming it when you get a random f21 item at the thrift store like this gray bandage skirt worn here. I picked this up when, randomly wandering around a row of current favorite thrift store haunts, in search of other bottoms to add to the number of those I have on rotation. I was getting tired of those in the closet and I only ever use about five or so from mondays-fridays and some saturdays and sundays. I rarely thrift nowadays but I might have to do more one day because of, well, stuff.

The vest is an old thing from eons ago, also nabbed from thrifting around the city. I don't exactly remember when. I decided to take this out, thinking it'd go well with the outfit on here. And also because it reminds me of Kate Moss' tiny vest style from around early 2000s? I don't really have a lot of vests actually. I only have this and one in denim, an ancient Old Navy piece. I was on the lookout for a few others back in Dumaguete City but when I'd found a bunch, I thought they were too big for me hence I never got any from those. Also, other than that, I felt I just had to take this one out because yesterday, I stumbled upon a Kate Moss Style instagram account and found her vest game is so on and cool there that well...as a HUMONGOUS fan of Kate Moss' effortless style, I just really had to. Some examples of how she rocks the tiny vests on here:

Bantayan Island for next week is tabled for some other time. Sadly. Because none of my closest friends can make it and if I were to go, I'd be on my own and it'd then be the second solo-trip for me after last year, October's Taipei trip for Pentagon's concert.

Slightly off tangent but I'm planning to make a separate music blog and I currently have quite a lot of backlog for it in terms of East Asian (mostly South Korean music or kpop and Japanese music, Jpop) music...what do you think? Should I?

americana...sort of

top and belt, vintage. shorts, aeropostale cutoff. boots, rubi by cotton on. wristlet/purse, coach. bangles/bracelets, forever21.

This is the third day this week I've worn this top. Some loved up thrifted finds are just comfortable for almost everyday wear, I guess. Also, plaids seem to be taking over my daily wardrobe. That, stripes and some select flowery dresses seem to be the only patterns I wear on a daily basis.

boy-dressing, 1990s, and boybands

vintage plaid shirt, aeropostale cutoffs, zalora heeled pumps, necklace as bracelet from aunt, aizilim rings, forever21 necklace/choker

rubi via zalora ankle boots

Mary-Kate Olsen and her 2008 plaid shirt + cutoffs get-up inspired this one based on what I've seen browsing around Olsens Anonymous anyway. Seriously speaking though, this oversized flannel is pretty comfortable and warm enough to keep the cold of the night at bay. December usually spells cold nights, warm mid- to early-afternoons for us here that's only a few meters below the equator. I could think of a number of things to do in it which includes sleeping and it's something I'm about to do in a bit. I have yet to test drive taking it out in leggings or a pair of cutoffs/shorts and tights however. I'll do that next time. It never really is cold enough to wear this thing out randomly in that comfortable off-duty combo.

The plaid shirt is, without a doubt, a men's shirt as it has a racing event info print at the back and a patch---not really visible in the photos---saying the same thing on one sleeve of it. I thrifted this with a denim button-up a couple of years ago or so, if memory serves me right. The two are about the same size. ....and by this, you could also easily tell its shirts like this that comprise 1/4th of my wardrobe. Err...yep. I have a lot I use to dress like a boy with. Hah. It's something I'd expect from someone who grew up around 4 brother-like figures majority of the early 90s which was also the height, or at least it was here, of boybands. Okay, so who here, around that time ('til the mid 90s, 1995-1996 and/or 97) were fans of the Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC? Unfortunately...I was a Boyzone (an Irish boyband) fan first, that time, with one girl friend from early elementary school. RIP, Stephen Gately. The girl friend and I squabbled over who gets him once upon a time when the question of 'who is your Boyzone bias/favorite member?' comes up. My environment growing up as exhibited here dictates the way I dress or in the least, has influenced it. There's definitely no going back for me from here. It doesn't really help either that I'm a huge fan of some Japanese boy groups *cough*Da-iCE and now FlowBack*cough* and young, mostly up and coming Japanese male actors in tokusatsu. And no...I've never been really a fan of One Direction...well, save for their first album because, in my opinion, that was the only one I found to be the best from them... I usually prefer Asian, specifically Japanese multitasking lyric and dance male groups...mostly anyway.

Androgynous dressing...hmn...let me mull over it some more...

And speaking of the boyband fever which I think is never going to die in this...err...continent (thank you, East Asian---J, K, and C-pop gods!) anyway, and that which I will refer to now and then in this blog...

Now listening to/playing (mood): FlowBack - Come A Long Way
The dance video for this one from the guys wouldn't show up on the youtube search on here so this audio will have to do...I think. The former is definitely a must-see. If you're a jpop fan or even just someone who's curious about music and gimmick from this male group, you can look into their music and dance videos on youtube. They have a pretty good sound, different from my favorite Da-iCE but still comparably good, all in all.
