Yesterday and today's outfits. 2 days worth of outfits for several days' worth of going missing from the blogosphere from some time last week. There's really not much to share about this week and last week either. At least not a lot of good news to share. A lot of things going on this side of the world is bad news, instead. Let's not dwell on that however. It's just...all bad and depressing. National and inside the island issues, yes. You'd think Mindanao Island in the Philippines is sunny and warm and paradise-like but at this time, it's really not...that...much a paradise.

It's around 30 degrees and up, 33-36 to be more specific, Celsius here so it's definitely hot. Very hot. It's close to the regular body temperature, even. Yet, the weathermen on the news say the rainy season is upon us. I definitely hope it cools down a little more. Otherwise, I'm happy being mostly in shorts and mini skirts until then.

Valentines day outfit. So what do y'guys plan to do on this day? I've been meaning to watch about three or four episodes of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo (Casefiles of Young Kindaichi)'s valentines day case...I'll probably do this tonight. I'll try to locate it on a streaming site for animes or I'm pretty sure I have them somewhere in my local hard drive/disk storage. 

Music talk: Yesterday was the Grammy's. How really good was that Prince tribute from The Time and Bruno Mars?! One huge highlight for the show yesterday, that one was for me. Adele's tribute to George Michael was pretty disappointing---the Grammy's really should have prepared something more for this as GM is pretty iconic to me as a pop music enthusiast and sometimes critic. I really like Lukas Graham but they should've been given a different segment to Kelsea Bellarini as I haven't been a fan of country music in forever outside of maybe Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood so they could show their own shine because, seriously, 7 Years isn't the only magnificent song from this band...there are a few others I like from them on their youtube channel. Twenty One Pilots winning the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Stressed Out had me over the moon granted this one was such a surprise win. I love about 3 to 4 tracks from their record, Blurryface so I had been so pumped for them and Lukas Graham being nominated in a number of categories. Katy Perry going political was also a thing for me however subtle that one was. Hmn...what else am I missing? I guess that's pretty much it. I'm not a huge fan of either Beyonce or Adele seeing as I hardly listen to mainstream pop. Criticisms on the Grammys yesterday: they really need to fix the sound problems they have which is present on a yearly basis---it messed up Adele's GM tribute and the Metallica and Lady Gaga performance among others; and hmn...I think it's high time the governing body behind the awards show let someone of a different skin color or race win, by this I mean Beyonce. The Beyhive has been thirsting/hungering for her to win some of the most coveted Grammy's awards like Album of the Year, Song of the Year and more, anyway. I think it would also be nice if they moved more of the pre-telecast awarding to the main show so there's a decent ratio of the performances and the awards. I'm sure I have a few others in mind but these two are the most I can name for now. Will I be watching the Grammy's next year? I'm not all that sure yet if technicalities like this continue but to be honest, the Grammy's is really the only awards show I watch year in and year out as I'm not that fond of film and tv show awards for some reason...this includes the Oscars that's happening in two weeks from the Grammy's. I watch a mixture of indie films and mainstream films so I don't really see the point of keeping tabs on awards shows. I should say the same for music as I listen to a mixture too but yeah...I still probably would not let things like the Grammy's pass seeing as I don't really follow the AMAs (American Music Awards) and more.

Sometimes I like to dress up really girly in white, off white or cream and dusty pink and pretend I'm just around Ginza, the posher, girlier part of really vast city, Tokyo. Was I able to get their style right? No? Yeah...I don't really know either.

And then there are times like this, when it was threatening to rain though still pretty hot and humid (typical oven-like temperatures in place like these that's only a few kilometers or so from the equator), I have to spring for the parka. It can be quite relieving to have this around when it's cold and raining. Especially when it's raining. It is raining hard tonight. I'm good at being redundant, yes. 

This bag is becoming a favorite since getting it from my aunt last Christmas. It's just the right amount of cute---since I can only tolerate cute in the smallest doses---and edgy black to complement some girly stuff in the closet and even those that aren't really that girly which, coincidentally, I own in large quantities. I dress too much like a tomboy...on an island I sometimes think to myself I should've been born a boy. But...I'm happier being a girl and having too many options for dressing (and especially high heeled ankle boots I'm currently thinking of acquiring soon) so...yes...there.  

Every female here must be a-buzz for H&M's opening tomorrow at Ayala Centrio. I'm going there with the bff and frequent hang out buddy and shopping buddy all-in-one to play, hence I'm sleeping early tonight.  

It's my camera stand that's having problems hence the photos where the backdrop is askew. I probably need to get a new one or something...hmn...

Easy basics for a lazy Wednesday. Zalora stuff is becoming a constant lately. I don't really shop a ton in real time unless maybe it's an uncrowded mall or something similar so rarely am I seen frolicking in malls which now includes coffee shops. Hermit-ing in at this time, yes.

Visited Philpost to see if I had something from Emoda/FromJapan today which was bought online a month ago. People there said it was registered mail and that it is still in Manila and, as they said, hopefully it comes next week. 

This is my last night here in Cagayan de Oro before sailing off to Dumaguete for the Comprehensive exams, I feel excited and afraid at the same time. Cross my fingers I pass it or I'll probably flip if I don't. Then promptly retake the exam. But hopefully, hopefully, I do hence I will be buried in more reading tonight after a couple hours of work I was meant to hand in earlier.

super heroes, lazy days and crazy, fun nights

The only thing I've succeeded today in doing is watching the whole of Super Hero Taisen and arriving at the conclusion that the whole tokusatsu movie fiasco that brought all kamen/masked riders and sentai/power rangers together is all a front to the Kaitou Daiki x Kado Tsukasa romance. I'm kidding and highly exaggerating of course. Oh and anyone who is into tokusatsu from Japan, it's a kids' show normally, would know what I am jabbering about here. But really, the ending for the movie was all friendship between super sentai and kamen rider and all that sap. I ended up watching the film after having decided it was too late for me to go out to comply with a Sunday obligation/practice and do some poking around thrift shops afterwards. I slept in until at least past 8:30 in the morning, not that I'm not that conscious of the time.

Yesternight was Japanese cuisine night courtesy of the room mate (thank you!)...with coffee jelly ice cream or something like that. Then it was followed by Watsons-raiding for a few things we needed and a long walk from the only Robinsons Mall around to the Rizal Boulevard and eventually around the school complete with me in the Mags flatforms. High heels. Considering they were flatforms, I somehow survived the walk with one or two minor mishaps along the way. And then there was a moment of stargazing by the field in front of the library and walking along unknown terrain in heels. I think I accomplished a ton of balancing feats last night I'm officially thinking I'm too cool for doing so. I'm probably not anything but crazy for doing all that walking.

 Oh and equipment for last night's insanity. The clutch held everything important in it's wee size that I didn't bring anything else but that and the digital camera. It's a gift from my grandmother as is all the other things from that part of the family I own, namely most of my jewellery stash back home. I use the clutch when I'm too tired to lug around the bigger, spacier bags I normally like on most days of the week.

And I'm off to either read or contemplate my next move this seemingly bright Sunday...day. Apart from the planned snacking on some fruit pies from nearby fastfood joints since I'm undecided on what to feed my picky self with, the rest of the day's plans are currently non-existent.

Say 'hello' to the current state of my mini shoe collection in Dumaguete. Black and white is a recurring theme except for the pop of silver and deep purple. I've never been assertive on non-neutral colors when it comes to shoes. Probably never will be, even. 

Flatforms from Mags are entirely a not-so-recent acquisition. Got them at half the original selling price a few days before I left for home during the long break from school. Mags had recently opened here last year. I remember going into their old store venue somewhere in Divisoria in Cagayan de Oro with a girl friend from my early years in college. They've expanded exponentially in terms of branches now and I'm glad they reached Dumaguete City (and even Metro Manila) now. They're my current go-to for shoes along with Rusty Lopez while I'm here in Dumaguete seeing as there is a serious lack of a branch of Primadonna and Parisian c/o SM Department store here. Going to SM in Cebu for a quick look at what shoes they have is not an option seeing as I'm eternally stuck here at the moment with schoolwork and all. I'm not fond of a ton of things from Mags but they have decent footwear offerings and some dresses I like. It's nice to know a bit of home followed me to where I am today. Mags actually had its early beginnings in my home city hence the brief mention of the small store they had that I frequently visited in the past. SM Cagayan de Oro and Lim Ketkai branches of Mags has, since then, become even more classier from their humble beginnings. Shoes will always be my addiction it seems. It overrides anything else I obsess with minus fandom where it's mostly a momentary obsessions zone from one fandom thing to another.

Ah, it's time to get productive. There are a ton of things to finish today. My to-do list is full to the brim. Class begins again tomorrow and I have readings to finish. State of life is eternally chaotic with literary papers to start and finish, reports to deliver and all things like them. All I've really done most of yesterday and today is gawk at things on ebay. I'm currently adding a ton of non-fiction books to the watchlist thinking about when I can get most of the things---books and everything else---in that said list.
