what i'd go for, for valentines' day

What I'm currently thinking of for Valentines' day dates which I'm not having any of anyway. My hearts' month is already full enough with favorite male idols' music releases and the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics and the men's volleyball event of UAAP's 80th season so I'm pretty relieved nothing's planned for me on the 14th. I'll likely be chilling to my favorite male (idol) groups from Japan and South Korea, Da-iCE and Highlight respectively, on that day and until night time and doing, well, whatever...or nothing at all. A bit of a look back: last year, I'd spent the 14th of February re-watching the Valentines' day case of Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo then followed by a recent Da-iCE concert. How about you? What do you have planned on the 14th? It's only 6 days away or so now, Philippines' time...

It looks like another thing to look out for has just been added for me for this month: Infinite's Kim Sunggyu is releasing something towards the end of February, too. Hmn...this really seems to be such a busy, busy, chaotic month for me where fandom is concerned. It's the life of a typical male (and in the case of lol, AAA and a-X's, co-ed---girls and boys) idol otaku (geek) or fangirl. Sigh. I didn't ask to be like this, it just happened I'd ended up like this when I started knowing boy groups through Boyzone, Westlife, the Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC back in the middle of primary/elementary school... It's been the point of no return since then.

And I leave you with this tonight:
It's a pretty freeing song.

Surigao Diary

(photos by me and my brother)

A weekend with scarce internet connection and long drives after, I ended up hibernating for about 10-12 hours upon reaching home. Surigao was exhausting and not so much the type wherein you're entitled to be a beach bum for days. Not really a big fan of cold water and natural water falls, I opted not to go swimming in both Enchanted River and the Tinuy-an Falls. I've already had enough of cold water swimming in my childhood days with friends, cousins, family and the grandparents.

In the midst of it all, I received impromptu lecture on wearing impractical footwear---but really, I'm basically queen of the impractical---and random shoot from mother. Then followed attempted moon photography via that which I have been abusing so much: a simplistic Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Digital Elph. Not bad when we were staying overnight at the Fish Cage on the last night in Surigao. I was actually able to capture it with settings I forgot how I did it to. I know, confusing. I'll attempt it again or some other time.

Note to self: read this before attempting to tie the scarf in turban-like fashion.

thinking about...

....whimsical dresses in black, white and a lighter color like very light pink/blush for Valentine's Date sans being without a date---I could always use it for the Vagina Monologues we're watching that night---all the while listening to whimsical indie-pop music from Diana Vickers.

I actually found the perfect Valentine's Day dress at a nearby store, I don't seem to have enough budget to get it---poor graduate student is poor. Might as well get it after that day to wear for next time. It's hard to get it off my head at the moment so hopefully it would still be available next week or something or it'd go on sale.

On the more fangirly side, I've been rereading the last few chapter of Ouran High School Host Club manga for the past few days. The chapter 69 onwards is quite mindblowing plus I do have a love-hate relationship with Tamaki Suoh and would do as the twins and Haruhi do---insult/tease him to the best I can. LOL. If I ever met someone like him, that is.

And with this being my favorite Diana Vickers chorus of a song...I leave you. Can you guess which it is?

"Dancing in the dark with the boy I met in Paris
Sitting in the front row of my radio show
Underneath the stars, stole my heart with this rhythm
We were dancing in the dark, dancing in the dark..."
