blue is my favorite color: oct 7 in mantigue island, camiguin island

top, something borrowed via zalora (old). shorts, target (mossimo, I think...). bracelet, my favorite random accessories-selling store around here in Cagayan de Oro City...

Way back October 7, I was a hermit Camiguin Island. Or a pseudo-island hermit because I was with the family and some others. It's the one place here that just never really grows old. There's always something to explore in that island. Of course, a trip to Mantigue Island IS A MUST. I have always been more a fan of Mantigue Island than White Island anyway. Yes, so this is where these photos were taken. Blue and white and the sun and sea and sand are always favorites in my book as a wannabe, still practicing beach bum and tropical islander girl. A lot of swimming was had in this island because we came in early with just a few people and the water was so pristine and clear it made swimming and just beach bumming and relaxing soooo...much fun.

During this trip, food was quite an experience when it usually never was way back when. Luna Ristorante's pizza is pretty heavenly and although not that vegetarian or vegan friendly---I just took out the ham and all on the Hawaiian pizza variant among others---well, it's still worth the try. For those who have eliminated pork in their diet like myself, their chicken pasta dishes are alright. The canneloni to name one, is highly recommended. Another new discovery on this trip is Beehive Bistro. The view there is just soooo...good despite the beach front being rocky when the tide is low. The bohemian aesthetic is just relaxing. It's like travelling back in the older times when there as they have a ton of old things on display. Their drinks are to die for---coffee, tea, fruit smoothies---and ice cream. They have dragon fruit ice cream which I got to try. Definitely worth going back there should I find myself in Camiguin Island again soon...ish.

I have another post coming up which delves more on the Halloween fun I had last night and over the last weekend with a co-worker and a bff turned co-worker... So yes, life is as eventful as always as it is busy with work on most days of the week.

It's a long weekend since yesterday so I'm, as always, playing hermit at home. I'm on my own at home with TVN blaring on the TVN right now and I'm enjoying time off from life, being the hermit that I usually am so...yeah...yay! I miss this so much. Of course, Halloween has been eventful, as always~

the comfiest top and dress

top, secondhand/vintage. dress, target (xhilaration). heels, zalora. cross necklace, forever21.

Luckily, it was a little bit cold today. Breezy. Just a really tiny bit breezy. Then came the short but voluminous downpour around 3 in the afternoon. It is one of those rainy summer days here in the southern part of the Philippines. Basically one of those days I'd probably be too afraid to go out in a pair of non-rain proof ankle boots or heels in lest I want them ruined by the rain and puddles of water on the streets. Knee-high -ish rain boots might be in order...I'll get to a pair soon-ish.

This is one of the coziest I can cull, rather, come up with, from the now pretty limited wardrobe that's perfect for not-so-hot (just mildly humid) summer days like today. It's also one of those that I can stand although the dress is floor-length. I'm not really into everything floor length (although I own another number, a skirt that's also in black from Topshop in Cebu City, that's also floor-length...), hence why I had to tie the top and dress on one side together to lift the dress's skirt higher. I wouldn't mind going out in this...I'll just need to swap the heels with a pair of rain-proof ankle boots or a pair of rain boots. The dress looks fine on its own considering it's a henley, racerback type. It's a great one-piece for a really, really easy casual wear anytime anywhere. The top is my favorite henley-like ribbed tank---one of the more draped, almost man/boyish that I own, and I don't own a lot although I'd likely want more of this variety---so I figured it would go well with the dress.

taking the gloom out of a dreary thursday

target maxi henley tank dress, vintage open knit sweater, forever21 leopard headband, ninewest clutch, zalora (rubi/cotton on) boots, aizilim rings and necklace

Second day hair, pop of red and leopard, all black...exactly what today warrants granted it's been raining on and off for three days of the week now. Classes and work have been cancelled here in anticipation of flooded streets and rising water levels of rivers, streams and the likes. Dreary day, drama-less clothes. Well, there's the weekend to look forward to although I'm only looking to download the next episode to Kamen Rider Ex-Aid later...it would be fun to do a movie marathon of some sort...we'll see.

I have weird vintage stuff in the wardrobe for some reason but it's fun to play with them with like color-ed basics. The photos here do not show it but I had to bunch together and tie the middle part of the dress and the lower part of the sweater with a black hair tie to keep the foot of the dress from hitting the floor. Definitely taking note of this just so I can do the same when I get to take this maxi number out in the sun...or under cloudy skies. Doing so, I find, keeps me from agonizing over having to laundry or wash the thing's muddy parts. Of course wearing heeled footwear would keep something as long as this from getting mud, water, dust and stuff on it, too. I avoid long stuff for this very reason that, I guess, you could aptly term clothing preservation.

Prabal Gurung x Target

(images: target.com)

Some highly covet-able pieces from the recent designer to get a collaboration line for Target. I need a pair of that black gladiators. That dress, with minimal ruffles since I'm not much about ruffles, is perfect for a day out for tea or something equally fun under-the-sun-playing session.

If only up-to-date Target department stores existed in the Philippines particularly around the Vis-Min areas. I'd be hitting the store to get any of these. All I can do at the moment is stare at them in lust and contemplate whether or not I can get them some time. Now if those gladiator heels are still available next month, definitely, definitely, I might have to forgo my planned oversized white shirts order for that one.

And oh, how sweet and simple are those crystal drops earrings and that crystal necklace?

I'm getting the hang of making collages in Photoshop now. Just now. Up until this time, I do collages on MS Paint---the friendlier version for MS Windows in place of Photoshop.
